How to Cook White Rice with Your Donabe

With prep done in advance, you can have rice ready in as little as 20 minutes.
(Time based on cooking 360mL or 1.5 US cups of rice.)
Step 1: Wash and Soak
Rinse the rice, then soak for about 30 minutes, until the water turns slightly cloudy.

Step 2: Add Water
Add the rice to the donabe, then fill with water to the second line from the bottom.

Step 3: Cook
Place both the inner lid and outer lid on.
Cook over medium heat for about 9 minutes.
Once it reaches a boil, wait about 30 seconds, then turn off the heat.

Step 4: Steam
Keep the lid closed and let the rice steam for 10 to 15 minutes.
Fluff the rice, then let it rest briefly before serving.
