Details
Crafted by Masuda Kiribako, a long-established maker of traditional paulownia boxes, this simple yet warm rice box beautifully blends Japanese craftsmanship with modern practicality.
Made from breathable kiri (paulownia wood) and coated with persimmon tannin (kakishibu) for enhanced durability, it naturally protects your rice from humidity, heat, insects, and oxidation.
The lid combines high-clarity acrylic with the traditional shihousan frame construction, developed exclusively by Masuda Kiribako. This ensures excellent airtightness and prevents the lid from slipping off, even when the box is tilted.
Two grooves on the back of the frame allow the lid to rest securely on the box’s edge – convenient when refilling or cleaning. The inner side of the lid also holds a measuring cup (1 go) magnetically, keeping it from sinking into the rice.
